Igniting a Culture of Safety at Community Secondary School, Illara-Mokin

Igniting a Culture of Safety at Community Secondary School- May 30th, 2025.

The morning of May 30th was a turning point for 220 students and 10 teachers at Community Secondary School in Illara-Mokin. In just 60 minutes, our team delivered a powerful, concise burn safety program that will have a lasting impact.

Using everyday examples and clear, direct communication, we empowered the students with essential knowledge: how to prevent common burn accidents, handle fire responsibly, and respond effectively in emergencies. Despite the short timeframe, the engagement was high. Students actively participated, asking questions and volunteering to demonstrate what they had learned.

We left behind more than just memories. We distributed 230 flyers, arming students and teachers with tangible resources to reinforce our message at home. This outreach wasn’t just an event—it was a crucial step in building a safer community, one school at a time.
The flyers we distributed are crucial tools for reinforcing burn safety education at home. They serve as tangible reminders of the lessons learned, empowering students to share vital information with their families and caregivers. This ensures our message extends beyond the classroom, fostering a culture of safety throughout the community.

We are committed to this mission and will continue to plant the seeds of safety in young minds.
