An hour of Burn Safety Outreach at Apostolic High School, Ilada-Mokin

It was just an hour that made all the difference. Our COA-CONE team’s mission is to prevent burn injuries through education and awareness, and that’s exactly what we did. We connected with 245 students and 5 teachers, sharing critical burn prevention tips, fire safety do’s and don’ts, and emergency response instructions.

A key part of our success was the use of a Yoruba interpreter, who ensured the message resonated deeply with every student, especially the younger ones. This highlighted the power of language as a bridge, making vital information accessible and impactful.

We didn’t just speak; we engaged. We demonstrated, answered questions, and distributed 250 flyers to ensure the message continued beyond our session. Our banner stood as a symbol of our unwavering commitment to protecting lives.

One hour, one community, one step closer to a future with fewer burn injuries. We’re proud to be driving this change.
